We had a great lesson in preparation for our field trip to the Victoria Mansion. Students learned about the owners of the mansion, immigration, businesses in Portland at that time, and about the first of 2 great fires in the city.

Creative Creations
Thank you so much for all the materials donated to the Global Play Day choice offered in our classroom. Students who signed up for creative creations had so much fun; many stayed for more than 1 session to continue building.

Thank you to Mr. Adams!
I love how Mr. Adams brought his guitar to school. It was very uniting and calming. Below is a photo of him playing the guitar as he waited for everyone to join the circle. I also took a photo of the little self-portrait he had on whiteboard!

Team Effort
Mr. Adams shared this drawing the students did using the projector. They then turned the projector off, and had Mrs. Giguere come in to guess what it was a drawing of. I have no idea if she guessed correctly, but I sure love the photo!

Jr. Achievement
Mrs. Cutter's lesson this week focused on how businesses and people often need to take our loans for purchases. She explained how interest and paying back a bank worked. Students also learned when it's safe and not at good idea to give someone a loan.

Recess Expectations Review
Mr. Saenz, our school's RTI behavior teacher, met with our classrooms to review recess expectations. This was needed because of the rough play occurring on the playground. Our goal is for recess to be fun and safe!
